Welcome to Another Great Year!
I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Cleveland summer. We have just completed our recruitment effort for our new AAF-Cleveland executive director. I’m very pleased to announce that Dan Leibundgut started the position on July 1. Dan brings a wealth of experience in marketing, sales and nonprofit operations to this critical leadership role. I look forward to introducing you to Dan at upcoming events. Thanks to many of you who participated in the recruiting process.
Be sure to join us on Monday, July 14, at Avon Oaks Country Club for our annual golf outing. As always, we’ve got plenty of fun planned and you (or your client) could drive home in a brand new Bimmer, compliments of Ganley BMW. All it takes is a hole in one! If putting is more your forte, you could walk off the green with $2,500 if you can survive the Marcus Thomas putting challenge. Two winners split the prize last year. We have lots of other surprises in store for you, as well as some returning fan favorites. If you’ve joined us in the past, you know this will be a great day.
As I work with Rick Squire on his final issue as editor of Portfolio, let me join the chorus of people who have sung his praises. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Rick and working with him since he came on board as our executive director 14 years ago. He has left a lasting legacy and his passion for AAF-Cleveland has been instrumental in our success and our strong national reputation. I am grateful that he will continue to be an active member of our organization and support Dan as he learns the ropes.
I’m very proud of AAF-Cleveland and excited about our future. I’m also honored and humbled to serve as president for 2008-2009. Your board is already hard at work developing events and activities for the coming year. More on that in future issues of Portfolio. I encourage you to take advantage of all we have to offer, get involved and make the most of your AAF-Cleveland membership.
Sincerely,
Mike Peterson
